London, 18 Nov - The human rights situation in Iran continues to be of serious concern. It is reported that activists, journalists, and foreign nationals are harassed, arrested, mistreated, and even tortured and imprisoned for speaking against the regime.

The international community recognized this by passing the 64th resolution, adopted by the UN Third Committee, that condemns the human rights violations in Iran. The resolution was was praised by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) President-elect Maryam Rajavi. She said that she sees it as another step by the international community toward addressing the needs of the Iranian people.

London, 15 Nov - The Iranian Regime has presented their costly list of ransom demands in order to secure the release of wrongfully-jailed British charity worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe to Foreign Office ministers.

If the UK government wishes to secure the release of Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was arrested by the Regime’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) militia group in April 2016 on her way back from a family holiday, they will have to:

• pay a £400 million bill for breaking a deal to sell Chieftan tanks to Iran in 1979 (because after the Regime took over, Britain didn’t want to supply them with military equipment)

London, 13 Nov - A British aid worker falsely imprisoned in Iran has been brought to tears over comments from Conservative ministers over her reason for visiting Iran.

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who was arrested on charges of spying for the UK and attempting to overthrow the Iranian Regime whilst on holiday in April 2016, is understandably angry over the flippant remarks of Foreign Minister Boris Johnson and Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Michael Gove.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a charity worker who had taken her baby daughter to visiting family for the Iranian New Year, is now being charged with ridiculous additional crimes against the Regime and the Iranian authorities are using the statements of Johnson and Gove as evidence against her and she could face an additional five years in prison.

London, 6 Nov - The Iranian Regime has slapped the grieving mother of a murdered political activist with a year in jail, plus a ban on political activity, travelling abroad and social media membership, in order to silence her from speaking out about her son’s death.

Shahnaz Akmali, who lost her son Mostafa Karimbeigi during a 2009 political protest, has been sentenced for “propaganda against the state” by the 26th Branch of Tehran’s Revolutionary Court in order to stop her from seeking the truth about her son’s death, according to the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran.

The propaganda charge is something that the Regime will often levy against people who have actually committed no crime in order to silence them, which generally means that the Regime is hiding something.

London, 2 Nov - The Saudi Arabian ambassador to the UN has condemned the Iranian Regime for its persecution of the ethnic minorities and noted that the Regime has shown no evidence of real change.

Khalid Manzlawi, Saudi Arabia’s Acting Permanent Representative to the UN, released a statement on October 25, which states: Iran has not shown that it intends to address the oppression and persecution suffered by the Arab people of Khuzestan province, such as the outlawing of their Arab identity and their civil rights.
