London, 21 Feb - The United Nations is now confirming that Iran supplied the ballistic missiles used by the Yemeni Houthis to attack Saudi Arabia in November.

The recently released UN report states that the “identified missile remnants, related military equipment and military unmanned aerial vehicles [are] of Iranian origin and were brought into Yemen after the imposition of the targeted arms embargo”.

In response to this report, U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley, who has long believed that Iran supplied the Houthis with the ballistic missiles, demanded that the U.N. Security Council act now to stop further violence.

London, 21 Feb - In recent years, when the US has made statements against Iran-backed Hezbollah, they have often followed this up with support for the Lebanese army and security forces, but it is becoming increasingly clear that there is little, if any, distinction between the Lebanese state and the Iran-backed terrorist group.

When US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson arrived in Beirut, last Thursday, Hezbollah had created two new problems with Israel: a southern border wall and the debates over oil and gas extraction.

London, 20 Feb - Several Western powers are calling on the United Nations Security Council to punish Iran for giving Houthi rebels in Yemen access to Iranian missiles. Britain, France and the United States have urged the UN Security Council to take action.

The three nations have also indicated that sanctions violations with regards to the missiles need to be addressed.

The draft resolution would allow the 15-member council to ensure that Iran is subjected to targeted sanctions for any and all activities “related to the use of ballistic missiles in Yemen”.

London, 16 Feb - The Houthis’ continued ballistic missiles attacks against Saudi Arabia are not simply retaliation for the Saudi-led Arab coalition seeking to restore the internationally recognised Yemeni government to power.

Instead, a Western diplomat based in the region said that this appears to be an attempt by Iran, who supplied the Houthi terrorist cell with the ballistic missiles, to start a bigger regional conflict or test their missiles against the US missile defence systems used by Saudi Arabia.
