London, 4 Sep - Former Cincinnati mayor and US ambassador to the UN human rights commission, Ken Blackwell, in an article published on Townhall.com this week, expressed concern and doubt over the recent nuclear negotiations with Iran. He said that regardless of how the administration try and convince the world that the deal is good, it is essentially a “bad deal” that “fails at its core objective of closing all pathways for Tehran getting the bomb”.

Key senators in the incoming Republican majority and like-minded Democrats have a vision of Iran as a revolutionary state. It is risky to conduct business as usual with revolutionary Iran. If “regime change from within” were an implicit part of U.S. policy, emergence of a free Iran that does not become a nuclear-armed state is likely. President Barack Obama, however, treats Iran as if it were a normal state to engage in give-and-take bargaining.

Roll Call: As Iraq teeters on disintegration, some on Capitol Hill are floating the idea of collaborating with Iran in order to defeat the threat posed by the terror group Islamic State (ISIS). But, would this really serve American interests? As dangerous as ISIS is, our would-be partners in Tehran present an even greater security threat to the region and America’s core interests.
