London, 28 Feb - In the first two weeks of February, a staggering 25 Iranian youths have been executed by the Regime.

Those executed were all under the age of 30; 12 were hanged in Gohardasht Prison, west of Tehran, on February 15, while a further 13 were hanged between February 11 and 13, in Qom, Zabol, Jiroft and Mashhad prisons.

London, 13 Feb - The White House recently put Iran “on notice” and increased sanctions against the mullahs Regime, and a member of the Organization of Iranian-American Communities (OIAC-US) thinks that this could improve human rights in the Gulf country.

Amir H. Heidarian, president of the Iranian American Community of Wisconsin, wrote an op-ed for the Journal Sentinel, in which he noted that this hard-line approach to the mullahs, would likely be beneficial for the ordinary Iranians.

London, 10 Feb - Human rights in Iran has always been a point of contention and friction between Iranian official and international bodies. Last November, the United Nation General Assembly’s human rights committee passed a draft resolution which voiced concern over continued rights abuses in Iran and urged the ruling regime to cease enforced disappearances and the widespread use of arbitrary detention.

London, 23 Feb - Amnesty International has released its annual report entitled “The State of the World’s Human Rights” for 2016/2017. This report is the most detailed analysis of the international human rights situation.

Regarding the situation in the Islamic Republic of Iran, the report highlighted that the people of Iran are denied the freedom of expression and the right to peacefully protest and the right to religious freedom. Prisoners in Iran are also mistreated and are denied the right to fair trials. Cruel punishments such as flogging and amputation are frequent, and women and minors are discriminated against. Furthermore, executions are carried out on a regular basis, and some are carried out in public.

London, 4 Feb - An Iranian-born researcher has been sentenced to death in Iran for supposed security-related offences. Mr. Ahmadreza Djalali is a scientist researching disaster medicine at the Free University Brussels (VUB) and at the Research Centre in Emergency and Disaster Medicine (CRIMEDIN) at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Novara, Italy.

London, 15 Feb - European governments are protesting the treatment of a Swedish scientist by the Iranian Regime.

Dr. Ahmadreza Djalali, a physician who specialises in disaster medicine, was arrested without a warrant, last year in Iran, and faces the death penalty.

Dr. Djalali, who has taught at universities in Belgium, Italy and Sweden, had arrived in Iran last April for a conference and was arrested by the Regime for “collaboration with enemy states”.

London, 3 Feb - The Supreme Court of Iran has once again ruled for an inappropriate punishment that is more suited to medieval rather than present times.

It has ruled that a woman has to be blinded in one eye after she attacked another person with acid, leaving her without sight.
