ImageTEHRAN (Reuters) - An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit an area southwest of the Iranian capital on Thursday, lightly injuring about 100 people, state television reported.

It said those injured in the quake, which struck at 4:45 a.m. (1:15 a.m. British time), were treated on the spot, state television reported. The tremor hit an area around the city of Boroujerd, about 320 km (200 miles) southwest of Tehran, it said.

State media did not give details of any damage.

Iran is criss-crossed with faultlines and is regularly hit by earthquakes.
