ImageTehran, Iran, Jun. 04 - Japan’s Prime Minister demanded on Tuesday that Iran heed United Nations Security Council calls for an end to uranium enrichment, state media reported.

Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fakuda made the remarks in a short meeting with Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the sidelines of a UN food summit in Rome, state television said.

"Iran has its own views of course, but if Iran continues to be isolated, Iran stands to lose the most", Fakuda said.

Ahmadinejad used Tuesday’s UN food agency summit to attack Israel, calling it an “artificial regime”.
