ImageTehran, Iran, May. 01 - Iran’s embassy in Baku on Wednesday rejected claims that its ambassador had been summoned by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, state media reported.

An official at the embassy in Baku stated that such claims were false. "Release of such reports by some sections of the Azeri press and media is against realities and untrue", Majid Feyzollahi was quoted as saying by the official news agency IRNA. He went on to add that the meeting had been pre-scheduled.

Feyzollahi's account of the meeting was in direct contrast to reports featured in Azeri media on Wednesday which said that Iran’s ambassador had been summoned over the confiscation by Azeri customs officers of a Russian shipment bound for Iran’s nuclear plant in Bushehr.
