Rafsanjani: West must accept Iran’s nuclear right |

Tehran, Iran, Jan. 23 – Iran’s former President Ayatollah Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Monday that it was in the interest of the European Union to accept the Islamic Republic’s nuclear “right”.
Speaking at a gathering of clerics and government officials in the north-east city of Mashad, Rafsanjani, who currents chairs the State Expediency Council, said, “The nuclear arena is one area where the Europeans seem to have problems making one enormous decision”.
Rafsanjani warned, “The enemies are trying from to stop us from reaching our goals using different tactics”.
The powerful cleric said that the various political factions must come together in the face of foreign threats.
He added that the West opposed Iran’s nuclear activities because it was aware of Iran’s domestic potentials.
He called on Iranian officials to be vigilant.
