Tehran, Iran, Nov. 01 – The Chief of Staff of Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said on Tuesday that the destruction of “Zionism” would be similar to the downfall of Communism in the 1990s, adding that the way has been paved for this.
“Just as the fall of Communism came unexpectedly, today we say that the Zionists have been shaken in their logic and slogans, and that the road has been paved for a world without Zionism”, Brigadier General Mohammad Saberi told a seminar in the central city of Arak.
“The path to a world free of Zionism has been paved and the way to realise this goal and bring an end to Israel’s animosity is resistance and alliance among the Islamic world”.
“Zionism is a deeply-organised ideology which believes in and supports the superior race and the World Arrogance (United States). Its aim is to take control of the world”, Saberi said, adding that it was backed politically and funded by the United States.
On Wednesday, speaking at a seminar in Tehran, hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad outlined the Islamic Republic’s policy in the Middle East, calling for the destruction of Israel and warning Islamic nations not to build ties with the Jewish state or face the “fire” of their nations’ fury.
