Students deprived of education in Iran

Iran Focus

London, 12 Oct - The cost of education and all of the associated costs are preventing many children in the country from ever being able to go to school. Educations costs for families are rising at the same time as their income decreases and the cost of living increases.

Even officials are now admitting that education is becoming more and more out of reach for many families. Officials are calling on the government to take urgent action so that the situation does not get worse.

House prices in Tehran

Iran Focus

London, 1 Oct - In the past year, the average cost of buying a house in Tehran has jumped by a massive 74%, according to the Central Bank of Iran. In the past Iranian month (August 21-September 21) alone, residential unit prices have jumped by 9.4%.

The CBI reports that the one square meter of an average unit in Tehran is currently worth around 84,000,000 rials ($2,000, based on Iran’s artificial exchange rate, or $500, based on the global exchange). The latter figure is more relevant in this case, as sellers can’t get cheap dollars based on the government rate.

Iranian people

Iran Focus

London, 20 Sep - The Iranian people are suffering one of the worst economic crises in living memory, with a falling currency, dramatic inflation, and returning US sanctions, all caused by the corruption and mismanagement of the Iranian rulers.

But while the Iranian people live in poverty, having lost jobs and houses, with some even flogging organs to pay for their children’s food and medicine, the children of the mullahs live in the lap of luxury and flaunt their ill-gotten wealth all over social media – websites that are banned in Iran for the ordinary people.

Iranian youth

London, 28 Sep - While the mullahs in Iran rage on about the “Great Satan” and scream that their people hate the US, the young people in Tehran and other major cities are enjoying Western media and culture. In fact, 60% of Iran’s 82 million people are under 30 and many of them are obsessed with Western pop culture.

Mohammadreza Azali, 31, co-founder of Iran’s tech news website Techrasa and a tech road show called Silk Road Startup, said: “We love American music. We watch American TV series and movies… Whatever is trendy in the U.S. is trendy in Iran.”

While Saeed Mohammadi, who co-founded Iran’s e-commerce platform Digikala, said: “This generation, this post-revolutionary generation, we don’t accept extremism. There are lots of us. We have the potential to revolutionize this country within a decade.”

Millions of Iranian Children Deprived of Education

Iran Focus

London, 19 Sep - The Iranian regime spent the billions it benefited from the lifting of sanctions after implementation of the Iran Nuclear Deal on exporting terrorism and extremist ambitions. Those expenditures have affected the livelihoods of the people of Iran, and stolen its children’s future.

For example, Iran’s Ruydad news website published a report on September 14th, that revealed the educational conditions for Iranian children. According to this state-run website,“Like many other national statistics, the exact number of children who have been deprived of education is not available. The figures offered by the ministry education differs from that of the Well-being Organization. The Mardom-Nahad body and other NGOs also offer different information.”
