British politicians, dignitaries, and activists gathered in London on Saturday to call on the UK government to lead the world in setting up an independent committee to investigate the 1988 Iranian massacre, in which 30,000 political prisoners were executed, and bring those responsible to justice.

London, 5 Sep - Amnesty International launched a campaign to stop the Iranian Regime from destroying one of the mass graves in which some of the over 30,000 victims of the 1988 massacre are buried.

The grave in question, located in the southern city of Ahvaz, is of immediate concern because construction near the area has already begun and Amnesty is concerned about losing evidence which could bring the murderers, who are still being sheltered by the Regime, to justice.

London, 2 Sep - The President of the Iranian Resistance announced that the Iranian Regime had failed in its goal to eradicate the democratic resistance forces at a ceremony in Albania on September 1, to commemorate the fallen.

Maryam Rajavi said: “Four years have passed since the mass executions of PMOI members in Ashraf, but the regime’s consecutive schemes to annihilate the PMOI have failed and the sacrifice of their victims have inspired and motivated greater protests and social readiness. Two years after signing of the JCPOA, the mullahs have neither pulled the country’s economy out of bankruptcy, nor have they responded to the demands of Iran’s defiant society. They have not found any way out of the quagmire in Syria and the schism at the top of their ominous regime is becoming increasingly wider.”

London, 4 Sep - A British politician spoke out about the deplorable human rights situation in Iran and called on the EU Foreign Policy chief to condemn the horrific human rights violations as well, at a London rally on Saturday.

Struan Stevenson, former chair of European Parliament’s official Delegation for Relations with Iraq, said: “The EU’s policy on Iran is totally flawed and it is nowhere more evident than the attitude of its foreign policy chief, Federica Mogherini regarding the despicable situation of human rights in that country.”

Mogherini recently attended the inauguration of the supposedly moderate Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, despite the tragic nature of human rights in Iran.

It was participated in by human rights defenders, renowned legal experts, and European politicians, including Julie Ward, a UK member of the European Parliament and Professor Eric David, Professor of International Law at Université libre de Bruxelles.

London, 3 Sep - A prominent Iranian journalist, who was a member of the semi-opposition political alliance of "nationalist-religious", has lost his right eye and part of the right side of his face; the result of being denied adequate medical care whilst imprisoned by the Regime.

Alireza Rajaei, who is recovering from a complicated surgery to treat his sinus cancer, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment in 2011 on bogus national security charges and for belonging to the Nationalist-Religious alliance.

The alliance is deemed to be “deviant” by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei for being too Western-inclined.

London, 1 Sep - A former Iranian political prisoner has written an op-ed for the International Business Times on the fight for justice for the victims of the 1988 massacre in which 30,000 people were murdered by the Iranian Regime.

Massoumeh Raouf, a member of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, advised that the international community join the fight for justice and demand that those responsible are tried for crimes against humanity.

Raouf, who currently lives in exile in Europe, lost her brother in the horrific massacre and revealed the heartbreaking tale of how she found out about his death.

London, 3 Sep - The Iranian Regime is being heavily condemned by the US and the Iranian Resistance for its death sentence against spiritual leader Mohammad Ali Taheri.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) released a statement, which read: “Taheri has committed no crime, possessed no weapon, and based on this regime’s own medieval and cruel laws cannot even be charged with the vague charges of moharebe or mofsed fel-arz (corruption on earth).”

London, 1 Sep - An Iranian doctor specialising in medicine for disaster relief who was arrested by the Regime seventeen months ago has finally had his day in court.

Dr. Ahmad Reza Jalali, a physician and researcher who teaches at Vrije University Brussel (VUB) in Belgium, appeared before Revolutionary Court Judge Abolghasem Salavati, who has been cited by the European Union for violations of human rights, on Wednesday August 23.

Jalali, who was working to develop disaster relief training courses for the EU, was arrested for “collaborating with an enemy state” on April 24, 2016, after being invited to visit Tehran University.

He has always denied the charges.
