Supporters of the Resistance of Iran

Iran Focus

London, 20 Nov - The Iranian government has targeted members of the People’s Mujahedin of Iran, or MEK (Mujahedin-e Khalq) for the past 40 years, but they have proven exceptionally resilient.

Today, Iran’s ministry of intelligence uses lobbyists, PR firms, and social media for a subtler character assassination of the MEK. Well-crafted editorials placed by PR firms and front groups posing as human rights or social justice organizations appear in publications in the US and Europe. Members of the Iranian government, intelligence, and academic sectors who have ensconced themselves in American and European institutions, including serving as government staffers and subject matter analysts, appear on cable news shows.

Iran spends $1 billion a year on terrorist proxies

Iran Focus

London, 15 Nov - The US has said that Iran spends nearly $1 billion a year on providing support to Hezbollah, Hamas, and other allied militant groups in the Middle East.

US Ambassador Nathan Sales, a coordinator for counterterrorism at the State Department, told reporters in Washington on Tuesday that Iran spends roughly $700 million a year on Lebanese militia Hezbollah, which is helping Iran provide critical support to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in his seven-year civil war against the opposition forces.

Turkey and Hamas Side with Iran

London, 7 Nov - The second round of US economic sanctions against Iran went into effect early this week. Regionally and internationally, it is now clear who defends this dictatorship, whether it is Arabs or foreigners, or left-wing or right-wing groups.

It was expected that the Lebanese Hezbollah, the Yemeni Houthis and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization have spoken out against these sanctions, they are part of the Khomeini body.

London, 14 Nov - The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) targeted four Hezbollah-affiliated individuals who lead the terrorist group’s activities in Iraq by labelling them as Specially Designated Global Terrorists.

This means that Shibl Muhsin ‘Ubayd Al-Zaydi, Yusuf Hashim, Adnan Hussein Kawtharani, and Muhammad ‘Abd-Al-Hadi Farhat are now officially designated as terrorists, allowing the US to seize any of their assets in the US or its territories and making it a crime for any American to provide material support to the four. As the Iran-backed Hezbollah is already a terrorist group sanctioned by the US, it makes perfect sense that their representatives would also be sanctioned.

Denmark's Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen

Iran Focus

London, 1 Nov - Denmark's Foreign Minister Anders Samuelsen accused Iran on October 30 of plotting to assassinate an Iranian Arab opposition leader in Denmark.

Samuelsen explained that Denmark would urge the EU to bring in new sanctions against the mullahs. Denmark recalled its ambassador from Tehran later that day.

Of course, this is not the only act of terror that Iran has committed (or attempted to commit) in Europe. (The US State Department published a comprehensive list of Iran’s attacks on Europe over the past 40 years.) It’s not even the first one this year.
