London, 05 Apr - Iran, Russia, and Turkey sat down for a meeting about Syria’s future on April 4, but the US wasn’t there, despite its role supporting the rebels in the Syrian Civil War.

This creates a massive problem, because Iran, Russia, and Turkey, have very different interests in Syria and experts say that this looks more like a PR exercise than a serious effort to bring about peace.

Iran, for instance, is a long time supporter of Syrian Dictator Bashar al-Assad and has a vested interest in seeing him remain in power. They have two main reasons for this; thinking that quelling the Syrian people’s uprising will dampen the Iranian people’s desire for regime change and believing that they will be able to turn Syria into another Iranian vassal state in the Middle East.

London, 19 Feb - The international community's negligence has allowed the Syrian Civil War to go on for far too long and cost far too many lives. Now the war, which many predicted to be winding down, has spread to four different fronts and had become a proxy war for many actors in the Middle East, not least Iran.

The Iranian Regime’s proxy forces have used the Syrian conflict to deploy Hezbollah troops to the border of Israel, to expand Iran’s Shiite Crescent, and to prop up the Bashar Assad dictatorship, fearing that if he fell, then the Iranian mullahs would be next.

London, 05 Mar - The White House has condemned the Syrian slaughter inside Eastern Ghouta, saying in a statement released on Sunday that the Syria, which was backed by the Iran and Russia, are killing “innocent civilians under the false auspices of counterterrorism operations.”

Eastern Ghouta, an area held by the Syrian Resistance forces, has been under siege from the Syria since 2013 and daily bombardments for months now.

Over the past two weeks, over 600 civilians from the city have been killed; a huge percentage of the 400,000 residents. On top of that, the United Nations reports that 15,000 people have been forced to leave their homes since January, with the majority staying in shelters and basements around Ghouta.

London, 15 Feb - Back in 2017, many advocated for the Syrian conflict to be solved through Russian intervention because that scenario was more appealing than a Syria controlled by Iran.

The Russian Syria plan, accepted by the US and their allies, meant that Russia would devise a plan for peace in Syria while also reducing Iranian influence there.
