London, 2 August - The economic, political, and social situation in Iran is getting so bad that even Afghan refugees and migrants that have been in Iran for over a decade are returning to their war-ravaged homeland.

Iran’s economy has been in freefall for quite a while thanks to the corruption of the mullahs, but this has been exacerbated by the new tough US policy on Iran. Now the value of the Iranian currency (rial) is falling fast, while inflation and unemployment are on the rise. This has hit Afghan migrants particularly hard as work in the grey economy, where most of them work, has declined sharply.

London, 27 July - The US’s military base near to southern Syria’s al-Tanf border crossing may have been set up to train local Syrians to fight ISIS militants, but it also provides an effective counterweight to Iran’s malign activities in the region.

Army Major Josh Jacques, a spokesman for US Central Command (CENTCOM), said: “Our mere presence there accomplishes that, whether it’s a goal or not.”

Even though the US military is primarily focused on training a Syrian group called Maghawir al-Thawra (MaT) to defeat ISIS, CENTCOM commander US Army General Joseph Votel reports that the American presence indirectly impedes Iran’s “destabilizing acts” in the nation.

London, 24 July - Iraq’s ruling political class has been shocked by the popular unrest in southern and central Iraq, which is fast growing from a singular issue into an overwhelming call for regime change, not unlike the ongoing uprising in Iran.

The Iraqi people are now completely condemning everyone who rules Iraq, and given that the Iranian mullahs are pulling the real strings in Iraq, this is a complete disaster for Iran.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) controls the sectarian Popular Mobilization groups, like the Badr militias, Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Kata'ib Hezbollah and the Al Khorasani Brigade, which in turn control the majority of Iraq’s wealth, influence and governance, which means that the Iraqi and the Iranian people are both rebelling against Iran.

London, 26 July - The American military base near the Al-Tanf border crossing in Southern Syria was set up to train local Syrians to fight ISIS, but it also serves as an effective counter to Iran and its malign activities, according to US officials and experts.

Army Maj. Josh Jacques, a spokesman for US Central Command (CENTCOM), said: “Our mere presence there accomplishes that, whether it’s a goal or not.”

He went on to explain that the US military’s primary objective in Syria is the defeat of ISIS, so American soldiers at al-Tanf are currently training a Syrian group called Maghawir al-Thawra (MaT) who will fight ISIS militants.

London, 23 July - Mass demonstrations are erupting all over Basra in Iraq and are spreading to the southern parts of the country and Baghdad. Protesters are threatening to obstruct oil industry and activity with major rallies.

In terms of natural resources, Basra is one of the riches cities in the world. Basra and the surrounding areas, however, are in a complete state of disarray. Aside from corruption and conflict, Iraq is suffering the effects of being ripped apart by opposing religious and political forces. The historic canals of Basra are now full of rubbish and the city's strategic location has meant it has been trampled through by the forces that invaded the country. Basra is now rife with squatter settlements, mostly inhabited by people from rural areas trying and failing to get away from poverty. Ditches are filled with sewage.
