The Norwegian ambassador to Iran, Ole Christian Holthe has been been asked by the Iranian authorities for an explanation, after reports of increased Norwegian intelligence activity in Iran.

Major General Torgeir Hagen said to NRK TVNews on Friday that the Norwegian Intelligence Service is charting Iran’s possible nuclear weapons program, registering threats against Norway’s allies, and at the same time securing Norwegian interests in the country.
– I was shocked by the news of the alleged Norwegian espionage, says Iran’s ambassador to Norway, Abdolreza Faraji Rad, to ABC News.

Foreign Office spokesman Bjoern S.Johansen says to ABC News that the Iranian authorities will be given a briefing by the Norwegian ambassador.
