Tehran, Iran, Aug. 27 – Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accused Israel on Tuesday of creating new diseases to make money from pharmaceutical products that cure them, state media reported.
“Some multinational companies and Zionist [Israeli] cartels produce new kinds of diseases to export their drugs to other countries”, Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with Iranian pharmacists marking "Pharmacy Day", the state broadcasting corporation reported on its website.
“Contrary to the commercial approach that is prevalent in the world drug markets, our approach towards the production and export of drugs is humane”, Ahmadinejad added, according to a separate report by the government-owned news agency Fars.
Ahmadinejad outraged the international community in 2005 by saying that Israel should be "wiped off the map".
