ImageIran's state TV says that an aide to opposition leader Mir Hossein Mousavi has been prevented from leaving Iran for Britain.

The report identifies the aide as the head of Mousavi's information committee, Abolfazl Fateh, a doctoral student in Britain.

In the two weeks of unrest since Iran's disputed presidential election, at least 11 Mousavi campaign workers and 25 staffers on his newspaper have been detained.

Mousavi says he's the rightful winner of the June 12 vote. Iran's supreme leader has declared the hardline incumbent, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the winner.

The semiofficial Fars news agency said late Thursday that Fateh was banned from travel so authorities could investigate "some of the recent gatherings" — a reference to the protests led by Mousavi.

The report could not be independently confirmed.
