Tehran, Jun. 01 – Iran’s Defence Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi declared Iran’s readiness to “crush” any aggressive moves by the US, state media reported on Wednesday.
“Powerful Iran is prepared to give a firm and crushing response to any unwise and hostile behaviour by the US”, Vahidi was quoted by the Fars news agency as saying while in Bolivia.
The Bolivian authorities expelled Vahidi late Tuesday after learning that Interpol had issued an arrest warrant for him for his role in the 1994 bombing of a Jewish centre in the Argentinean capital Buenos Aires that killed 85 people.
Bolivia issued an official apology to Argentina for having invited Vahidi to attend a military ceremony in the city of Santa Cruz, in the presence of Bolivian President Evo Morales.
