IRAN: Photo Exhibition, Briefing, to highlight egregious rights violations during Hassan Rouhani’s presidency

The Organization of Iranian American Communities-US (OIACUS.org) has organized a three-day photo exhibition to be followed by a briefing at the U.S. House of Representative to highlight the rapidly deteriorating situation of human rights in Iran.

The exhibition, entitled, “Don’t sacrifice human rights at the altar of nuclear talks,” feature posters and photos, depicting the horrific dimensions of human rights abuses in Iran since Hassan Rouhani became president in August 2014.

The exhibition, entitled, “Don’t sacrifice human rights at the altar of nuclear talks,” feature posters and photos, depicting the horrific dimensions of human rights abuses in Iran since Hassan Rouhani became president in August 2014.

No less than 1171 persons, including 37 women, 23 dissidents and 17 juveniles have been hanged across the country, in what the 61st UN resolution, censuring the egregious violations of human rights, has described a clear breach of international standards and the right to due process.

The open to public exhibition, was set up in the Foyer in Rayburn House Office Building, on Monday, December 8 and and will continue on Wednesday, December 10, which marks World’s Human Rights Day.

The exhibition will be followed by a Congressional briefing on Wednesday, December 10, 3:00-4:30 pm, 2237 RHOB, featuring several Members of Congress, Ambassador Robert Ford, Linda Chavez, U.S. Expert to the U.N. Sub-commission on the Prevention of Discrimination and Protection of Minorities; and R. Bruce McColm, former Freedom House Executive Director.
