Iran reveals paranoia over opposition forces’ Free Iran rally in Paris

London, 29 Jul – Iran’s regime has tried to perpetrate the myth that there is no viable opposition to its rule, the opponents of the theocratic government say. Tehran has suggested that the Iranian Resistance, made up of groups like the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), does not have the support of the Iranian people.

This insinuates that the only choice for the West is to appease the dictatorship or declare a full-on war; which considering recent Western involvement in the Middle East is an unfavourable option.

The NCRI said: “The Free Iran gathering in Paris on July 9 punctured Tehran’s long-held narrative. According to scores of media outlets, some 100,000 Iranians and their international supporters participated in the event.”

Their supporters included influential people from around the world; former U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Newt Gingrich, former Governor and Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean, former President of the European Commission Jose Manual Barroso, former Foreign Minister of Canada John Baird, and Prince Turki al-Faisal of Saudi Arabia.

The NCRI also reveals that risks taken by opposition forces within Iran; they smuggled messages of support to the Western media, released a video expressing support for the Resistance.

Their report states: “Their presence spoke on behalf of the new generation and families of political prisoners. This prevented the mullahs from once again denying the deep roots of the resistance in Iran.”

The Regime reacted with aggression; attacking the opposition forces and their President-elect, Maryam Rajavi. They lashed out against the Saudis, register an official protest with the French Ambassador

This anger is ultimately caused by the threat posed to the Regime by the Resistance, as Western powers wake up to the damage done by the mullahs. The responses range from President Hassan Rouhani calling the Saudi Arabian government a “childlike regime that [is] seeking the support of rotten terrorist organizations” to Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, dismissing the statements of Saudi Prince Turki-al Faisal and American politicians such as John Bolton and Newt Gingrich as evidence of their “incompetency and naiveté”.

Of course, many of the comments accused the Iranian Resistance of terrorism but these lies have been thoroughly debunked by Western governments who consider the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps to be a terrorist organization and realize the Iranian regime funds terrorism through their support of Hezbollah, Hamas and Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.

The speaker of the Majlis (Iranian Parliament), Ali Larijani, called the Saudi Prince a “moron”, a criticism used more often by schoolchildren than foreign leaders. He claimed that the gathering was so “worthless” and “impolite” that it did not “merit a response”; after he had responded.

They also dismissed the support within Iran as non-existent, with Eshag Jahangiri, First Vice President, claiming that “PMOI are unpopular in Iran, people hate them…”, despite a huge wave of protests within the country against the Regime, not the Resistance.

Ali Akbar Velayati, the foreign policy advisor to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and the former Foreign Minister, had the nerve to say that PMOI “have betrayed their own people”, despite Iran executing 120,000 civilians since 1981.

Mohsen Rezai, Secretary of the Expediency Council and former commander of the IRGC, said that the overthrow of the regime by the Resistance was “nothing but madness and lunacy,” but if that were true, would the Regime be so scared?

The Iranian people have the power to overthrow the dictatorship and the regime knows it.
