Tehran, Iran, May 19 A senior Iranian cleric accused the United States on Friday of targeting Irans borders and masterminding attacks in the south of the country.
The enemy has planned to create insecurity in the countrys border regions, Ayatollah Mohammad Emami-Kashani told Friday prayers worshippers in Tehran. His remarks were aired on state television.
Our enemies, which are the United States and Zionists, have targeted Irans border security, economy, universities, and science, he said, adding that the U.S.s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) was behind such activities.
In other parts of his sermon, referring to Tehrans nuclear pursuit, the senior ayatollah said, Our scientific and university dignity is more important than the economy.
He said that Iran would not give up its nuclear rights.
