TEHRAN – A crash involving four cars in southeastern Iran has killed 15 people and left three others injured, the state news agency IRNA reported Saturday.
Local traffic police chief Ardavan Ghasemi said the accident occurred between Zahedan and Khash in Sistan-Baluchestan province. The pile-up was blamed on one driver who apparently made an ill-timed overtaking manoeuvre.
Iran has some of the most dangerous roads in the world, with at least 25,000 people losing their lives in traffic accidents every year.
