Iran’s Latest Coronavirus Condition; 15 Provinces Red Status, Dangerous Autumn Ahead

Meanwhile, Tehran and 26 provinces of the country are still in the red situation of the coronavirus, and the Deputy Minister of Health also demanded the cessation of any gathering and even the non-reopening of schools and universities.

The Municipality of Tehran announced on August 18 that it will provide 600 sports complexes and lawns to Muharram mourning delegations. The National Coronavirus Task Force also strongly opposed the reopening of schools and universities and warned of a further outbreak of the coronavirus in the fall.

The latest statistics from Corona

According to a spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, 153 people have died of coronavirus in the last 24 hours alone. Thus, the death toll of COVID-19 patients in the country has reached 20,125 people, the opposition sources considered this statistic to be a drop and announced the real number of coronavirus deaths in Iran above 90,000 people.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Health continued that, “15 provinces of Mazandaran, Tehran, Qom, Golestan, North Khorasan, Ardabil, Isfahan, Alborz, Khorasan Razavi, Kerman, Semnan, East Azarbaijan, Markazi, Yazd, and Gilan are in the red situation and also provinces of Fars, Ilam, Lorestan, Hormozgan, Zanjan, Qazvin, West Azerbaijan, Bushehr, Hamedan, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad are also on alert.”

Statements of the Deputy Minister of Health

On the other hand, Alireza Ra’isi, the Deputy Minister of Health, emphasized in front of Rouhani on Tuesday: “Any mourning ceremony is forbidden in closed spaces and we ask the people to participate in the” Every House is a Hosseiniyah” project and not to allow that we again witness a rise in the disease.”

Meanwhile, Alireza Zali, head of the National coronavirus Task Force in the Tehran metropolis, warned: “Tehran province is still in the red in terms of the prevalence of coronavirus.” Referring to the proximity of Alborz province to Tehran, he informed about the warning situation and red conditions in this province and added: “Naturally, due to the transactions of these provinces, the outbreak of coronavirus will continue in the coming weeks.”

He added: “The share of new outpatients to health centers diagnosed with COVID-19 who needed hospitalization was 8.4 percent, and of these, the share of people who needed to be admitted to the ICU ward was reported as 24 percent.”

National Coronavirus Task Force opposes reopening of schools and universities

Ali Maher, Deputy Planning and Supervision Officer of the National Coronavirus Task Force in the capital, announced on Tuesday: “Our assessments and studies in the Task Force show that there is no proper infrastructure and platform, as well as the necessary preparation for the admission of students in the educational spaces of Tehran Province, so the Tehran Task Force is generally opposed to the reopening of schools and universities in person, and we have raised this issue many times “

Coronavirus situation in some cities

“The coronavirus is still active in our province, East Azerbaijan is still prone to further coronavirus outbreaks and not many people have been infected yet,” said Mohammad Hossein Soomi, president of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, referring to the continuing red situation in East Azerbaijan and Tabriz.

He said that 26,715 definite cases of coronavirus patients have been identified in East Azerbaijan so far, five times more than patients in Qom and added: “1231 of these people have died and 689 people are now hospitalized in the normal wards of the province’s hospitals and 20 percent of them are in the special wards and 84 people are breathing with the help of mechanical ventilation.

Five times increase of coronavirus patients in Qom

Siamak Mohebbi, Vice Chancellor for Health at Qom University of Medical Sciences, said: “Currently, the number of coronavirus patients in Qom has not decreased and, unfortunately, the number of patients with coronavirus in this province has increased fivefold. With the continuation of this process and considering the upcoming various occasions such as holding the national entrance exam and mourning for Muharram, it seems that in the next 40 to 50 days, the province will be in the same situation as in March and health defenders and the medical staff is facing difficult days.”

Mohammad Reza Qadir, President of Qom University of Medical Sciences, also said about the latest situation of coronavirus in the province: “In the past 24 hours, 86 people were hospitalized in the province due to coronavirus and currently 344 coronavirus patients are hospitalized in Qom hospitals. 83 of them are in critical condition.”

Qazvin in the red position

The spokesman for the Ministry of Health said on Tuesday: “Since the beginning of June, the incidence and daily hospitalization schedule in Qazvin, along with other provinces of the country, has risen again and continued. So that last week, a city was added to the red cities of this province.”

Red situation in Razi Hospital in Ahvaz

The head of Razi Hospital in Ahvaz announced that 90% of the ICU beds of this hospital are occupied by patients with the coronavirus.
