Tehran, Jan. 19 – Fourteen people were killed yesterday and eleven others left injured when a bus and a truck collided in Fars province (southern Iran), according to the state-run news agency IRNA.

The fatal incident took place on a brigde in the road from Shiraz to Kazeroun, late in the night. It is believed that upon impact the bus was haulled off the 40 metre high, bridge coming to a fatal stop.

Iran’s roads are considered to be among the most dangerous in the world, with some 100,000 road-accident deaths occuring in the last five years.
