ImageTehran, Iran, Apr. 29 – A tornado which struck a village in north-west Iran last week left at least three women dead and three others injured, Iran Focus has learnt.

The tornado hit the village of Bilverdi, East Azerbaijan Province, on Friday.

Several women from the provincial capital Tabriz had travelled to Bilverdi to participate in a funeral, but the tornado forced them to take refuge near a house.

The strong wind forced the wall of the house to collapse leaving six of the women injured. Three of the women died on the way to Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz.
