ImageTehran, Iran, May 24 – At least 21 people were killed when a bus slammed into a truck on a stretch of road in western Iran, state media reported on Saturday.

The accident occurred on Friday on the road from Hamedan to Malayer, the state-owned daily Etemad said.

Eleven other people were injured in the crash.

Iran's highways are considered to be among the most dangerous in the world, with some 100,000 road-accident deaths occurring in the last five years, the equivalent of three deaths an hour.
