London, Jan. 28 British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw stated once again on Saturday that Iran may be referred to the Untied Nations Security Council for breaching its international obligations vis-à-vis its nuclear program.
Asked what he believed Irans nuclear ambitions were, the British Foreign Secretary told the BBCs Radio 4, We think that they are developing a nuclear weapons capability.
Straw said that Tehran had to provide objective guarantees that its nuclear program would not lead to a nuclear weapons capability because of its unquestionable record of deceit in the past.
He said that London was seeking to have Irans nuclear file referred to the United Nations Security Council at the upcoming February 2-3 meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agencys board of governors if Tehran did not change its position.
Straw ruled out the possibility of military attacks against Irans suspected nuclear weapons facilities.
