London, Apr. 29 Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov urged Iran on Saturday to suspend its uranium enrichment and cooperate fully with the International Atomic Energy Agency, the Russian news agency Interfax reported.
Lavrov told Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki in a telephone conversation that Tehran should clarify as soon as possible the issues raised in a report released by the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Friday.
The pair discussed Irans nuclear program in light of ElBaradeis damning report.
The Russian side again stressed the imperative need for Iran to take specific steps to regain from the international community confidence in its nuclear activities, in particular to suspend uranium enrichment research and development and cooperate with the Agency on the full scale for the earliest possible clarification of the IAEA’s remaining questions concerning the Iranian nuclear program, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on its website.
