Iran Focus: Tehran, Iran, May 02 – Thousands of workers attended a demonstration on Monday in the Iranian capital to mark International Workers’ Day and demanded the resignation of Iran’s Minister of Labour and Social Affairs. Iran Focus

Tehran, Iran, May 02 – Thousands of workers attended a demonstration on Monday in the Iranian capital to mark International Workers’ Day and demanded the resignation of Iran’s Minister of Labour and Social Affairs.

“Incompetent minister, resign, resign”, the protestors chanted in Tehran, referring to Labour Minister Mohammad Jahromi.

Jahromi, a founding member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps in Gilan and Mazandaran provinces in 1979, was appointed by hard-line Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to head the Labour Ministry in 2005.
