London, May 25 – The following are photos from a 100,000-strong anti-government protest in the north-western city of Tabriz on Monday.

The rally was held against the publication of an insulting cartoon mocking ethnic Azeris in the official daily Iran.

Anti-government protests and clashes have since erupted in dozens of other towns and cities in north-west Iran.
