LUXEMBOURG, June 16 (Reuters) – European Union foreign ministers have agreed a new round of sanctions against Iran's financial, oil and gas sectors, a British diplomat said on Monday after ministers met in Luxembourg.
"There is agreement among foreign ministers to bring in these sanctions … The timetable is in the next few days," the diplomat said on the margins of the meeting. He gave no further details of the measures against Iran, which has resisted international demands to suspend uranium enrichment in a nuclear programme the West suspects is a cover for an atomic bomb.
