MOSCOW – Iranian Vice-President Gholamreza Aghazadeh, who heads his country’s atomic energy agency, arrived in Moscow on Monday for a brief working visit, with Russia’s work on a nuclear power station high on the agenda, Iranian diplomats said.
Aghazadeh was notably due to meet the head of the Russian federal nuclear agency, Alexander Rumyantsev, as well as Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Igor Ivanov, head of Russia’s security council.
Russia is building a power station in the Iranian city of Bushehr, a project which is sparking controversy as the United States and other Western countries accuse Iran of seeking to secretly build nuclear weapons.
