Tehran, Iran, Jan. 03 Irans top nuclear official said Tuesday evening that Tehran was not prepared to negotiate with the international community on its decision to resume suspended nuclear activities, and menacingly warned that if we lose, others in the region will also lose.
Speaking on state television, Ali Larijani, secretary-general of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), said that Iran made a mistake by accepting to suspend nuclear research at Natanz in the first place.
There are no reasons why we should prevent our scientists from carrying out nuclear research, Larijani said.
The top Iranian security official said that he previously told the European negotiating side that nuclear research must be excluded from any agreements.
He said that Tehran would not negotiate with Europe on the topic of nuclear research and would not cease the activity.
Larijani warned the European trio of Britain, France and Germany not to push [Iran”> to adopt Option B.
Larijani did not elaborate what he meant by Option B, but said Iran was ready for all eventualities.
Our plan is designed to ensure that if we lose, others in the region will also lose, Larijani said, alluding to retaliatory Iranian strikes against Israel and pro-Western Arab states if its nuclear facilities came under attack.
