Tehran, Jul. 07 – From the Grapevine…

Shops in the main Bazaar in Tehran remained shut for a second day as carpet merchants joined other sellers in a strike.

Several businesses which tried to open their stores were jeered by other bazaaris on strike. There were chants of “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to Ahmadinejad”, referring to the Iranian Supreme Leader and President.

Witnesses tell Iran Focus that the situation in the Bazaar remains very tense.
