Tehran, Oct. 16 – From the Grapevine…
Some parts of Tehran in recent days have been littered with graffiti in support of international sanctions targeting Iran’s theocratic regime.
In Chaharsad Dastgah, Amirieh, Khayyam, and Park-e Sa’ee districts and Yousef-Abad junction opponents of the government have written graffiti on walls in support of sanctions against the regime. They also urged the public to take to the streets on 7 December, Iran’s Students Day.
Some of the slogans on the walls read: “Overthrow is our slogan, 7 December is our honour”, “We are all together, don’t be afraid of sanctions”, “Death to [Supreme Leader Ali] Khamenei; we’ll meet on 7 December”.
There were similar slogans in Imam Hussein and Rah-e Ahan squares, and Salsabil, Javadieh and Yakhchi-abad districts in south Tehran. They included: “Khamenei be ready, we will return on 7 December” and “The one who is afraid of sanctions is not the nation, but the velayat (Khamenei). We’ll meet on 7 December”.
