London, 20 Dec - The death of four six-year-old girls during a fire at a school in Zahedan, Iran, on December 18, has sent the nation into mourning.

The fire began after one student tripped over an oil heater whilst playing during a break and quickly spread throughout the school. Most of the 59 students were rescued by neighbours and school staff before firefighters arrived, but many students have been injured.

London, 7 Nov - Two young woman filed a complaint against Iran’s Morality Police for beating them, because their head covering was deemed ‘insufficient’.

State-run IRNA news agency reported that their attorney, Mohammad Hossein Aghasi, said,“The 9th Branch of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Armed Forces Judiciary Committee overturned the case, arguing that there was not sufficient evidence.”

Aghasi tweeted on November 2nd, that the Armed Forces Judiciary Committee rejected the complaints of the students.

London, 6 Oct - When Iranian security agents arrested women’s rights advocate Maryam Azad at Tehran’s Khomeini Airport on September 25, she became the fourth activist to be arrested in a month.

Azad, 31, a theatre graduate, had boarded a plane to Istanbul when she was arrested and it is not yet clear what she is being charged with. She also requires medical care for an unknown ailment, but the Iranian Regime often denies medical care to prisoners.

London, 2 Nov - Iranian security forces have violently attacked two female Azerbaijani activists in an attempt to extract false confessions, leaving one in the hospital with broken teeth and injured fingers.

In late October, agents arrested Nasim Sadeghi and Hakimeh Ahmadi without explanation and sources close to the women reported that the pair were severely beaten.

Ahmadi’s husband Gholamreza Ghorbani posted a video on October 30, where he explained that she had been severely injured – agents broke her fingers and two of her rib bones – and has now been moved to the hospital. He said that the authorities had refused to tell him which hospital she was in, forbade him from visiting, and said that he would be liable for the cost of the medical treatment.

London, 9 August - In the wave of protests sweeping Iran, especially over the past week, Iranian women are having an effective impact. In fact, their influence has been so great that the Revolutionary Guard Corps has been compelled to speak out.

The state-run Fars news agency, allegedly affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) — which has been designated as a terrorist entity by the United States Department of Treasury — wired two stories on August 5th, 2018, that highlighted the role of Iranian women as the driving force behind the recent protests.
