London, Apr. 01 United States President George W. Bush said on Friday that the international community was united on that Iran must not develop the know-how to build nuclear weapons.
There is common agreement that the Iranians should not have a nuclear weapon, the capacity to make a nuclear weapon, or the knowledge as to how to make a nuclear weapon., Bush told reporters at a press conference in Cancún, Mexico, alongside Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
The reason there’s common agreement is because the Iranian government with such as weapon as is now constituted would pose a serious threat to world security, he said.
Bush also announced that the U.S. was prepared to give assistance to the people affected by several powerful earthquakes in the western Iranian province of Lorestan.
We obviously have our differences with the Iranian government, but we do care about the suffering of Iranian people, the U.S. President said.
Four powerful earthquakes and close to a dozen minor ones struck Irans western province of Lorestan on Friday, leaving at least 70 people dead and 1,264 others injured.
The tremors flattened several hundred villages.
The most powerful of the quakes measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck the industrial city of Doroud as people were asleep in the early hours of the day.
