Tehran, Iran, Mar. 08 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said United Nations agencies risked looking like “stooges” of Western governments unless they won the trust of “free nations”, the government-owned news agency Fars reported on Wednesday.

“Free nations of the world are deeply sceptical about these [United Nations”> agencies and have absolutely no trust in them”, Ahmadinejad said. “They must prove that they treat the whole world equally, otherwise these free nations will think that international organisations are stooges of some of the imperialist countries. If they were not, these organisations would not submit to the will of [the West”>”, Ahmadinejad said in the town of Aligoudarz as he continues his tour of the western province of Lorestan

Ahmadinejad said that if UN organisations, such as the International Atomic Energy Agency, stepped up pressure on Iran, then Tehran would “cease to pay attention to these international megaphones”.

“Our enemies think that if they manage to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear technology their domination will go on, but they must know that they are completely mistaken; today our path to obtaining this technology is crystal clear”, the Iranian president said.

He said that Tehran was not willing to be “bullied” by other countries. “Unfortunately, certain countries think that they are the masters and others must be their servants, but they must know that the era of serfdom in the world is over and today is the time for the rule of the nations”.

Separately, Reuters reported that the Security Council was expected to take up the issue of Iran’s nuclear program next Monday or Tuesday, according to United States Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns.
